Why Did Jesus Come?
なぜイエスは、この世に来たの？
(Matthew 1:20-23) But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

1. We were made lovingly by God
私たちは神様に愛情を込めて創られた
(Psalm 139:16-17) Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them!

(Isaiah 66:2) Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?” declares the LORD. “These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word.

2. We were lost and Jesus came looking for us
私たちは失われていて、イエスは私たちを探しにきた
(Romans 3:23) for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

(Romans 5:6,8) You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. (8) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

3. We were bought back. God says ‘you are twice mine”

(Isaiah 43:1-2/The Message) But now, God's Message, the God who made you in the first place, Jacob, the One who got you started, Israel: "Don't be afraid, I've redeemed you. I've called your name. You're mine. When you're in over your head, I'll be there with you. When you're in rough waters, you will not go down. When you're between a rock and a hard place, it won't be a dead end.

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
