神様が私達にしたいと願っていること
God’s heart for Us
(ヨハネ 4:3−14/リビング訳) ユダヤをお去りになり、またガリラヤ地方へ行かれました。その途中で、どうしてもサマリヤをお通りにならなければなりません。サマリヤのスカルという村にさしかかられたのは、ちょうど正午ごろでした。 そこに、昔ヤコブが息子ヨセフに与えた土地があり、ヤコブの井戸がありました。 日のかんかん照りつける長い道のりを歩いて来られたイエスは、疲れ果て、井戸のそばにぐったり腰をおろされました。まもなく、サマリヤ人の女が一人、水を汲みに来ました。 イエスは、「すみませんが、水を一杯下さい」と声をおかけになりました。そのとき弟子たちは、村へ食べ物を買いに行っており、ほかにはだれもいません。 女はびっくりしたようです。「あれまあ、あんたユダヤ人じゃないのさ。 あたしはサマリヤ人だよ。なのにどうして、水をくれなんて頼むのさ。」〔当時、ユダヤ人はサマリヤ人を見下し、口をきこうとさえしなかったのです。〕「もし、神があなたに、どんなにすばらしい贈り物を用意しておられるか、また、わたしがだれかを知ってさえいたら、あなたのほうから、いのちの水をくださいと願ったでしょう。」 「そんなこと言ったって、あんたは水を汲むおけも綱も持ってないじゃないか。この井戸はとても深いんだよ。そのいのちの水を、いったいどっから汲むのさ。あんたは、あたしたちのご先祖ヤコブ様よりも偉いってのかい。ヤコブ様はこの井戸をあたしたちにくれたんだよ。 ヤコブ様も、その子孫も、家畜もみんな、この井戸の水を喜んで飲んだんだ。これよりいい水をくれるってのかい。」「この水を飲んでも、すぐにまた、のどが渇きます。けれども、わたしがあげる水を飲めば、絶対に渇くことはありません。わたしがあげる水は、それを飲む人のうちで、永久にかれない泉となり、いつまでも、その人を永遠のいのちで潤すからです。」
(John 4:3-14) So he left Judea and went back once more to Galilee. Now he had to go through Samaria. So he came to a town in Samaria called Sychar, near the plot of ground Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob’s well was there, and Jesus, tired as he was from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
1. 神様はどんな人でも受け入れたいと思っている
God will receive anybody
(ヨハネ 4:9) 女はびっくりしたようです。「あれまあ、あんたユダヤ人じゃないのさ。あたしはサマリヤ人だよ。なのにどうして、水をくれなんて頼むのさ。」〔当時、ユダヤ人はサマリヤ人を見下し、口をきこうとさえしなかったのです。〕
(John 4:9) The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.)
-神様はどんな過去を背負ってきた人でも受け入れてくれる。 God receives anybody with any background.
(ロ-マ 10:12) ユダヤ人とギリシヤ人との区別はありません。同じ主が、すべての人の主であり、主を呼び求めるすべての人に対して恵み深くあられるからです。
(Romans 10:12) For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him.
2. 神様は私達一人ひとりに特別なギフトがあり、可能性に満ち溢れていることを知って欲しいと思っている
God wants us to know that we have gifts and potential
(ヨハネ 4:10) 「もし、神があなたに、どんなにすばらしい贈り物を用意しておられるか、また、わたしがだれかを知ってさえいたら、あなたのほうから、いのちの水をくださいと願ったでしょう。」
(John 4:10) Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
(マルコ 4:31-32)それはからし種のようなものです。地に蒔かれるときには、地に蒔かれる種の中で、一番小さいのですが、それが蒔かれると、生長してどんな野菜よりも大きくなり、大きな枝を張り、その陰に空の鳥が巣を作れるほどになります。
(Mark 4:31-32) It is like a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds on earth. (32) Yet when planted, it grows and becomes the largest of all garden plants, with such big branches that the birds can perch in its shade.”
-この世は、わたし達の外側だけを見てわたし達を決め付ける。しかし神様はわたし達の内側にある可能性を見てくれている。 This world judges us with how we look on the outside, but God sees the potential within us.
3. 神様は私達に一時的ではなく、永遠のものを与えたいと思っている
God wants to give us things that last forever, not temporal things
(ヨハネ 4：13-14)「この水を飲んでも、すぐにまた、のどが渇きます。けれども、わたしがあげる水を飲めば、絶対に渇くことはありません。 わたしがあげる水は、それを飲む人のうちで、永久にかれない泉となり、いつまでも、その人を永遠のいのちで潤すからです。」
(John 4:13-14) Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, (14) but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
(ヨハネ 3：16) 神は、実に、そのひとり子をお与えになったほどに、世を愛された。それは御子を信じる者が、ひとりとして滅びることなく、永遠のいのちを持つためである。
(John 3:16) For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
(ローマ 4:25) 主イエス様は、私たちの罪のために死にました。 そして私たちを、神様との正しい関係に入れ、神様の恵みで満たしてくださるために、復活なさったのです。
(Romans 4:25) He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.
