1.ペテロとユダ：二つの人生の道
Peter and Judas: two ways of life
ペテロ：世界を変えていく教会の初めのリーダーとして生きていく
Peter: Became the first leader of the first church and changed the world
（マタイ 26：73-75/新改訳）しばらくすると、そのあたりに立っている人々がペテロに近寄って来て、「確かに、あなたもあの仲間だ。ことばのなまりではっきりわかる。」と言った。（74）すると彼は、「そんな人は知らない。」と言って、のろいをかけて誓い始めた。するとすぐに、鶏が鳴いた。（75）そこでペテロは、「鶏が鳴く前に三度、あなたは、わたしを知らないと言います。」とイエスの言われたあのことばを思い出した。そうして、彼は出て行って、激しく泣いた。
(Mat 26:73-75/NLT) A little later some of the other bystanders came over to Peter and said, “You must be one of them; we can tell by your Galilean accent.” (74) Peter swore, “A curse on me if I’m lying—I don’t know the man!” And immediately the rooster crowed. (75) Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: “Before the rooster crows, you will deny three times that you even know me.” And he went away, weeping bitterly.
ユダ：最悪の人生の終わり方をし、悪人として歴史に名が残ってしまう
Judas: Ended his life in the worst way, and he is remembered in history as an evil betrayer.
(マタイ 27:3-/新改訳) そのとき、イエスを売ったユダは、イエスが罪に定められたのを知って後悔し、銀貨三十枚を、祭司長、長老たちに返して、（４）「私は罪を犯した。罪のない人の血を売ったりして。」と言った。しかし、彼らは、「私たちの知ったことか。自分で始末することだ。」と言った。（５）それで、彼は銀貨を神殿に投げ込んで立ち去った。そして、外に出て行って、首をつった。
(Mat 27:3-5/NLT) When Judas, who had betrayed him, realized that Jesus had been condemned to die, he was filled with remorse. So he took the thirty pieces of silver back to the leading priests and the elders. (4) “I have sinned,” he declared, “for I have betrayed an innocent man.”“What do we care?” they retorted. “That’s your problem.” (5) Then Judas threw the silver coins down in the Temple and went out and hanged himself.

Why did they have two contrasting outcomes from the same experience?
A.二つの悲しみ：自己憐憫と本当の悔い改め
Two types of sorrow: self-pity vs true repentance
（2コリント7:10新改訳） 神のみこころに添った悲しみは、悔いのない、救いに至る悔い改めを生じさせますが、世の悲しみは死をもたらします。
(2 Corinthians 7:10) For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.
B.二つの異なった生き様：イエスの為 vs自分の為 2 ways of living: For Jesus vs For yourself
(ヨハネ12:4-6/新改訳) ところが、弟子のひとりで、イエスを裏切ろうとしているイスカリオテ・ユダが言った。（５）「なぜ、この香油を三百デナリに売って、貧しい人々に施さなかったのか。」（６）しかしこう言ったのは、彼が貧しい人々のことを心にかけていたからではなく、彼は盗人であって、金入れを預かっていたが、その中に収められたものを、いつも盗んでいたからである。
(John 12:4-6/NLT) But Judas Iscariot, the disciple who would soon betray him, said, (5) “That perfume was worth a year’s wages. It should have been sold and the money given to the poor.” (6) Not that he cared for the poor—he was a thief, and since he was in charge of the disciples’ money, he often stole some for himself.

Endure or Run Away?
（へブル12：11/新改訳）すべての懲らしめは、そのときは喜ばしいものではなく、かえって悲しく思われるものですが、後になると、これによって訓練された人々に平安な義の実を結ばせます。
(Heb 12:11) No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
（へブル12：5b-6/新改訳）そして、あなたがたに向かって子どもに対するように語られたこの勧めを忘れています。「わが子よ。主の懲らしめを軽んじてはならない。主に責められて弱り果ててはならない。
(Heb 12:5b-6) “My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline, and don’t give up when he corrects you. (6)For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.
