(Isaiah 43:1-3) But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. (2)When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. (3)For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I gave Egypt as a ransom for your freedom; I gave Ethiopia and Seba in your place.
1.死に向かう恐れ：神を知らない人々が恐れるもの
Fears that lead to death: The fears of people who don’t know God
A. 突然の不幸 The fears of sudden misfortune
(イザヤ 10:3) 刑罰の日、遠くからあらしが来るときに、あなたがたはどうするのか。だれに助けを求めて逃げ、どこに自分の栄光を残すのか。
(Isaiah 10:3) What will you do on the day of reckoning, when disaster comes from afar? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches?
何の希望もなく、それが突然起きたら頼るものもなく、絶望に陥る。
No hope for the future, and depression when sudden misfortune hits them.
B. 自分の芽生えと人々の意見 Fear of the opinions of others
(箴言 29:25) 人を恐れるとわなにかかる。しかし主に信頼する者は守られる。
(Proverbs 29:25) Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.
-人の意見に振り回され、自分を失う。人生も失う。
Losing yourself by being influenced by the opinion others. Such a person will lose their own life.
C. 裏切りや仕返しされること Fear of betrayal or revenge
(イザヤ 8:12) 「この民が謀反と呼ぶことをみな、謀反と呼ぶな。この民の恐れるものを恐れるな。おののくな。
(Isaiah 8:12) "Do not call conspiracy everything that these people call conspiracy; do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.
-不倫、友達の裏切り、政治の堕落、会社の裏切り。いつも心配し、怯えて生きる人生。
Adultery, betrayal from friends and society, political corruption. A life that is always worried and afraid.
D.嘘や本当のこと（自分）がばれてしまう Fear of exposing your lies and hidden truth
(ヨハネ福3:20) 悪いことをする者は光を憎み、その行ないが明るみに出されることを恐れて、光のほうに来ない。
(John 3:20) Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
-本当の自分を隠しながら、仮面をかぶって生きる人生。他の人々が本当の自分を知ってしまったらどうしよう・・。
A life in which you keep hiding your true self and wear a mask. You always live in fear of having your true nature revealed.
E.失敗や間違い Fear of failure and mistakes
(マタイ 25:25) 私はこわくなり、出て行って、あなたの一タラントを地の中に隠しておきました。さあどうぞ、これがあなたの物です。』
(Matthew 25:25) So I was afraid and went out and hid your talent in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.'
(1ヨハネ 4:18) 愛には恐れがありません。全き愛は恐れを締め出します。なぜなら恐れには刑罰が伴っているからです。恐れる者の愛は、全きものとなっていないのです。
(1 John 4:18) There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
-失敗したら後がないので何もできない状態。すべての行動が麻痺し人生が先に進まない。
You cannot do anything because there is no way out if you fail. Your life is not moving forward as because your action is paralyzed.
2. 命に向かう恐れ：本当に恐れなくていけないもの Fear that leads to life: What you really need to fear
A. 神様の恐れること Fear of God
(イザヤ 8:13) 万軍の主、この方を、聖なる方とし、この方を、あなたがたの恐れ、この方を、あなたがたのおののきとせよ。
(Isaiah 8:13) The LORD Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread,
(ルカ 12:4-6) そこで、わたしの友であるあなたがたに言います。からだを殺しても、あとはそれ以上何もできない人間たちを恐れてはいけません。(5)恐れなければならない方を、あなたがたに教えてあげましょう。殺したあとで、ゲヘナに投げ込む権威を持っておられる方を恐れなさい。そうです。あなたがたに言います。この方を恐れなさい。 (6) 五羽の雀は二アサリオンで売っているでしょう。そんな雀の一羽でも、神の御前には忘れられてはいません。
(Luke 12:4-6) "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. (5) But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him. (6)Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God.
B. 俺たちの人生の終わりを恐れること：使命をちゃんと終えたかどうか
Fear for the end of our lives: Whether we complete our life mission or not
(伝道 12:13-14) 結局のところ、もうすべてが聞かされていることだ。神を恐れよ。神の命令を守れ。これが人間にとってすべてである。(14) 神は、善であれ悪であれ、すべての隠れたことについて、すべてのわざをさばかれるからだ。
(Ecclesiastes 12:12-14) Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. (14) For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.
3.神を恐れることで得られるもの The outcome of fearing God
A.人生での知恵と知識 Wisdom and Knowledge in life
(箴言 1:7) 主を恐れることは知識の初めである。愚か者は知恵と訓戒をさげすむ。
(Proverbs 1:7) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
(出エジプト 20:20) それでモーセは民に言った。「恐れてはいけません。神が来られたのはあなたがたを試みるためなのです。また、あなたがたに神への恐れが生じて、あなたがたが罪を犯さないためです。」
(Exodus 20:20) Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning."
B.絶対なる安心と人生の安定 Absolute security and a stable life
(箴言 3:21-26) わが子よ。すぐれた知性と思慮とをよく見張り、これらを見失うな。(22)それらは、あなたのたましいのいのちとなり、あなたの首の麗しさとなる。(23) こうして、あなたは安らかに自分の道を歩み、あなたの足はつまずかない。(24) あなたが横たわるとき、あなたに恐れはない。休むとき、眠りは、ここちよい。(25)にわかに起こる恐怖におびえるな。悪者どもが襲いかかってもおびえるな。(26) 主があなたのわきにおられ、あなたの足がわなにかからないように、守ってくださるからだ。
(Proverbs 3:21-26)My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight; (22) they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck. (23) Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble; (24) when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. (25) Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked, (26) for the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.

(Ephesians 1:11) In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,
C.本当の幸せ True Happiness
(伝道 7:18) 一つをつかみ、もう一つを手放さないがよい。神を恐れる者は、この両方を会得している。
(Ecclesiastes 7:18) It is good to grasp the one and not let go of the other. The man who fears God will avoid all extremes .
(箴言 10:22) 主の祝福そのものが人を富ませ、人の苦労は何もそれに加えない。
(Proverbs 10:22) The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it.
D.そしてもっと多くのもの・・・ And for more than you can imagine
(詩篇 112:1-8) ハレルヤ。幸いなことよ。主を恐れ、その仰せを大いに喜ぶ人は。(2) その人の子孫は地上で力ある者となり、直ぐな人たちの世代は祝福されよう。(3) 繁栄と富とはその家にあり、彼の義は永遠に堅く立つ。(4) 主は直ぐな人たちのために、光をやみの中に輝かす。主は情け深く、あわれみ深く、正しくあられる。(5) しあわせなことよ。情け深く、人には貸し、自分のことを公正に取り行なう人は。(6) 彼は決してゆるがされない。正しい者はとこしえに覚えられる。(7) その人は悪い知らせを恐れず、主に信頼して、その心はゆるがない。(8) その心は堅固で、恐れることなく、自分の敵をものともしないまでになる。
(Psalm 112:1-8) Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands. (2) His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. (3) Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. (4) Even in darkness light dawns for the upright, for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. (5) Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely, who conducts his affairs with justice. (6) Surely he will never be shaken; a righteous man will be remembered forever. (7) He will have no fear of bad news; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD. (8) His heart is secure, he will have no fear; in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
